• Fire Ants are attracted to electrical currents.
• There are 2 types of colonies — single-queen colonies and multi-queen colonies.
  • Single-queen colonies are very territorial and will only forage for food around their mound.
  • Multi-queen colonies are less territorial and will freely move around from one mound to another.
• Flooding causes colonies to leave their mounds and float until they can reach land to establish a new colony.
